Bob was born June 28, 1934 and passed away of terminal cancer in a Kelowna Hospice on November 02, 2013.
Bob worked at Vancouver Tug/Seaspan on the vessels and then transferred into the office working in Dispatch and the Port Captain's departments.
Bob retired in 1994 and in 2002 he and his wife Gloria moved to Kelowna.
Randy Hamilton September 30, 1950 - May 12, 2014
His unexpected passing is deeply felt by his family; his wife Ellen, daughters Alissa, Amanda and Camile, son-in-law Mike, and grandchildren Josh and Logan.
A celebration of life will be held at Whonnock Lake Centre at 1pm on Thursday, May 22nd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

DAVIE, Robert Hugh, Captain July 29, 1934 - November 5, 2013 .
Robert passed away peacefully and with dignity after a short illness at the North Shore Hospice in North Vancouver right across from where he was born. Being raised in West Vancouver along with his eight siblings, there were many hours spent exploring mountain trails and back down to the beautiful north shore beaches. One of Robert's first jobs was with Woodward's food floor at Park Royal while still in high school. He then went on to enjoy a healthy career on the tug boats up and down the B.C. Coast. After acquiring his own boats, he became one of the most sought after in the High Line log salvaging business. Robert next ventured on to dry land as he entered into the real estate business with Marine Realty where he specialized in water front properties and coastal islands, then on to his work "Downtown" where he held an office in The Sinclair Building. His fascination and interest in geology alongside many years of experience in the mining industry brought Robert to his last venture. Even in his final days he was always interested and involved in having many conversations with family and friends and making plans for the future. Robert was a hardworking and honest man, a caring father and loyal friend. He leaves behind two daughters, Kathie (Kevin) and Norma (Mike), his three grandchildren, Tara, Kyle and Kelsey; and great-grandson, Oliver. DELANEY, Captain Daniel
February 17, 1931 – February 7, 2017
Surrounded by his family in the last days of his life, we sadly announce the passing of Daniel.
Born in New Westminster, son of Daniel and Mary, Dan and his family moved to White Rock in 1968. Predeceased by Mary (Cahill), Jack and Patrick. Survived by his loving wife, golf partner and best friend, Carol (Chamberlain), two children Robert (Rob) and Diane (Nebert) and five grandchildren (Nicole, Bobby, Tristen, Matthew and Makayla) and two great-grandsons, (Riley and Hunter), many nieces and nephews and his little four-legged friend, Ebony.
Dan lived a wonderful life. He was a tug boat Captain for 30+ years on the Coastal Tugs. He enjoyed his time off and retirement down in Birch Bay Leisure Park, golfing and many trips abroad. He was a loving father, loyal husband and a proud Papa.

ATTRIDGE, Roger Jeffery Roger passed away on November 9, 2017 in Ajijic Jalisco Mexico. He had Myelodysplasia syndrome, and this was the contributing factor to his death. Roger was the son of Archie Attridge and Kathleen Smythe of Midland Ontario, and even though he moved to many places in Canada, including the last twenty years in Vancouver, he always considered Midland his home. His spouse of twenty-five years was Elizabeth Durham of Toronto, they enjoyed a wonderful life together and traveled extensively. They settled in the Lake Chapala area of Mexico four years ago, enjoying a great retirement there. Roger was father to Bil Attridge and his wife Unika of Victoria B.C; and grandfather to Calvin, Trevor, Darien and Jake. His daughter, Kelly Attridge predeceased him in March of this year. His offspring have been very successful in all their undertakings and Roger was very proud of them. After high school Roger sailed the Great Lakes on and off for five years. He came ashore and had a twenty-eight-year career in business management including District Management with Cole's book stores and Radio Shack. At age 53, Roger returned to the sea sailing on coastal tugboats out of Vancouver. At age 55, he went back to school and obtained his 1st Mates ticket and Coastal Master's ticket. This was to be the dream vocation for Roger. In retirement he enjoyed working part-time running the pilot boat in Vancouver harbour. Roger always considered himself fortunate to maintain many long-term friendships personally and through his professions. No service by request, his ashes will be thrown to sea. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1942 and passed away in Victoria, BC on 18th of December, 2022. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret, his children, Linda and Steven, and Grandson Declan.
Gordon was a Chief Engineer who worked for Seaspan for 41 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion, branch #91, where he was a proud member since 1968.
A memorial service for Gordon will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at First Memorial, 4725 Falaise Dr, Victoria, BC.

Captain Whyte, Wayne Alexander
June 19, 1940 - February 23, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Captain Wayne Alexander Whyte. He left us peacefully in Sechelt Hospital with his loved ones at his bedside after a lengthy and courageous journey with Parkinson's Disease.
Wayne was born in St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver and was raised in North Vancouver, where at the young age of 16 he fell in love with the sea, after a summer spent working on the tugs. This experience was the beginning of a successful 45-year career on the water which took him around the world and to the pinnacle of the marine profession, guiding ships as a BC Coast Pilot for 22 years.
In addition to his devotion to work and family, Wayne had many passions that brought him joy. He was an avid skier in his early years and later he honed his golfing skills, always practising to lower his handicap. In retirement, he divided his time between Palm Desert and Sakinaw Lake, his favourite place on earth! At the lake he poured his heart and soul into gardening and landscaping, including building many incredible rock walls.
Wayne is predeceased by his father and mother, Charles and Joyce Whyte and his twin brother, Warren.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Diana, his supportive sister, Dianne Rice, his beloved sons, Warren and Trevor, and his amazing grandchildren, Stella, Ty, and Jaidan who all held a very special place in Wayne's heart.
Wayne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his exceptional work ethic, his generous outgoing personality, his quick wit and big smile and his dedication to his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 13:00 to 16:00, at the Polygon Gallery in the Seaspan Room, located at 101 Carrie Cates Ct in North Vancouver.

Camire, Laurence Melvin Joseph
April 1, 1950 ~ February 15, 2023 (age 72)
Laurence passed away comfortably Feb. 15, 2023 after a valiant 2 year battle with multiple strokes and progressive cancer. Laurence was a strong life force and dedicated family man as a son, brother, husband, father and friend. He was very strong and competent in all his doings. Described as a tugboater, equipment operator, entrepreneur, musician, biker and truly a man of all trades. Of all, he was most dedicated to and proud of his family.
Survived by his loving wife Sandy of 40 years, children Katie and Julian, brother Arden (June), nephews Scott (Tracy) and Russ.
His strong presence will be missed by many. Everyone valued his honesty, humour and compassion. Laurence accepted Jesus and was baptized on New Years Day this year. He went at peace with all in his life and with the Lord.
Service and Celebration of Life will be held April 1st, 2023, 1pm at SCC Sorrento Hall followed by an optional post celebration at our home. Snacks, firepit, laughter and stories.
